CB4 for Four

CB4!

Raptors 134, Bulls 129 (OT)

Chris Bosh's 31 pts & 15 boards helped the Raps defeat the Bulls in OT, leading them to a season high four straight wins.  If this game happened 20 games ago, the Raptors would have probably blown this game in the third quarter.  Back then, if they even got a whiff of a team closing in on their lead, the Raptors would have folded like a bad suit.  But not this time around, since they were riding a three game winning streak and with the team chemistry coming around, the Raps played confident today.  Ben Gordon helped the Bulls stay in this game scoring 37 including the bucket to send the game to overtime, but the Raps maintained their composure.

After punching the shot on Ben Gordon in today's game against the Bulls, Pops brought out his mad hops. Pops, why couldn't you have been on the Raps in November?! Raps knocked off the Bulls in an OT thriller, 134-129.

You know there's garbage time when...

Garbage Time!

Raptors 112, Thunder 96

...when the picture of last night's game includes :

  1. Quincy Douby
  2. Damien Wilkins
  3. Malik Rose
  4. Robert Swift
  5. Jake Voskuhl
Yes, there was garbage time, and yes, we were on the winning end.  There was even a highlight of a Quincy Douby dish to Patrick O'Bryant.  Seriously.

Garbage time or not, this was a sweet swat by Joey Graham!  Who was in on this fourth quarter garbage time? Joey Graham, Roko, Quincy Douby, the Notorious POB and Jake Voskuhl were all on the floor at the same time for the Raps.  If that doesn't spell garbage time, I don't what does.  Even ert_swift-300x200.jpg">this guy was on the floor for the Thunder.  The Raps beat the Thunder handily 112-96.

Top 5 FRESHEST & CURRENT NBA Alternate jerseys

My beloved Chicago Bulls were sporting the NBA Latin Nights 'Los Bulls' jersey tonight as they avenged that previous 2OT heartbreak loss to the Miami Heat, and my conversation with fellow Hoop Heads North blogger Romes during the game got me thinking - who's got the nicest alternate jerseys in the NBA right NOW?!

Now...some of the NBA teams' current alternate jerseys are actually franchise throwbacks, so I'll take those out of consideration as I might do a throwback jersey post sometime down the road...although I'm sure that topic has been done time and time again during the height of the 'Mitchell & Ness' popularity. There are enough remaining alternates that I could easily do a 'Top 5 WORST Alternate' list - (Wizards anyone??) but we'll save that for a future post!

So, without delay here's my Top 5 FRESHEST & CURRENT NBA Alternate jerseys (click 'Read more...' below to continue):

Damon Jones is Alive!

Damon Jones!

Raptors 115, Bucks 106

Let's see what happened with the Raps' last night:

Win? Check.  The starters showed up? Check.  Good defense?  Check. Kapono did something?  Check.

What the hell?  It's like 70 games too late but anyhow, the Raps played well for the second game in a row.  Charlie V who normally plays well against his former Raps had a dud of a game, shooting 4-11 with only 8 points.  Again, Raptors' fans got a glimpse of how the Raptors were predicted to play like this season, Bosh/Calderon each had a double double, Bargnani dropped 23, Marion/AP scored double digits and even Kapono, yes, Jason Kapono put together 14 points with a game leading +18.

Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic didn't suck
Last week: 18.7 ppg, 11.3 rebounds, 3.7 blocks

Superman held it down for the Magic last week as Orlando is making a push towards that #2 spot in the East.  Dwight Howard had a huge game in their loss against the Cavs scoring 13 pts, grabbing15 boards and swatting 6 shots.  Against the Bucks, Howard almost had a triple double scoring 28 pts with 12 boards and 7 assists.

WHICH DOUBY U BE?: Raps sign Quincy Douby

Douby!

According to Raptors.com, the Raps have signed guard Quincy Douby to a 10-day contract from the D-League's Erie Bayhawks and if you were wondering, Erie is in Pennsylvania.

For the rundown on Douby, our friends at Ridiculous Upside has a nice little recap on Quincy Douby:

"Douby, who I compared to Dahntay Jones when he was initially signed to the D-League had a very similar D-League stay.  After being cut by Sacramento, he signed with the D-League, same as Jones.  While he didn't play as well as Jones in his D-League stint, he didn't have as much time to get acclimated with his team.  Douby didn't have the greatest stint in the D-League, as the shooter shot just 30% from beyond the arc.  Regardless, in the two games I watched, I could tell he deserved to be in the NBA..."  - Read more @ Ridiculous Upside

Quincy Douby has some NBA experience playing with the Kings for a couple of seasons. Here's a little video of Douby during his time in Sacramento (Will Smith as Ron Artest?!).  It's kind of funny, how many of these players still play with the Kings?
