This game was a litmus test in many ways, to see where this seemingly playoff bound Eastern Conference team stacks up against one of the most prolific high scoring & 3-point making teams, in the Golden State Warriors. Not to mention the manner in which the Raptors lost to the Warriors when they faced each other in Oakland...there was no shortage of incentive for the Raptors heading into this game.
It was the longest elapsed game in Toronto Raptors history, taking 3 hours and 32 minutes to complete and in the end, the Washington Wizards left Air Canada Centre victorious with a 134-129 triple overtime victory over the Raptors.
The Raptors' Terrence Ross suffered a sprained left ankle near the end of the second quarter and did not return to the game. The Raptors also gave up 36 points to the Wizards in the second quarter, which proved to be a factor with the game eventually going into overtime.
On NBA All-Star Saturday night, Crown's Center Court NBA Influencers were treated to a second consecutive night of Crown Royal whiskey tastings. On Friday evening, the previous night, we were given the opportunity to learn about and sample Crown Royal Deluxe and Crown Royal XO, led by 'Master of Whiskey' Robert Sickler. On the Saturday evening, 'Master of Whiskey' Robert Sickler was back to share his expertise, and provided us with two additional whiskey blends to sample as well, Crown Royal Black and Crown Royal Reserve. It was great to have the ability to see which of the four blends we enjoyed most and why; whether it was the flavour & aroma, or the smoothness. I personally have always enjoyed Crown Royal Deluxe (aka the Original), but the Crown Royal Reserve stood out to me as well. Pairing the NBA All-Star Weekend with Crown Royal is just the perfect way to 'Reign On' - both on AND off the court!
To continue Saturday's Crown Royal tasting event, Keenan Towns, Director of Entertainment and Influencer Marketing at Diageo, was on hand for this special event to introduce the guest of honour and Crown Royal Ambassador, the one and only Dr. J, Julius Erving!
The Toronto Raptors marked their 15th anniversary of calling Air Canada Centre home, with a 98-91 win over the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers; breaking the Cavs' six-game winning streak.
What a weekend it was!
Thanks to Taylor & Crown Royal, Hoop Heads North was able to experience the opportunity of a lifetime! New Orleans was a fantastic host city this past weekend, the weather was perfect, and we most definitely had non-stop 'Reign On' moments!
There were so many career & record setting ReignOn moments by the Toronto Raptors in January that it was only right that we re-visit them in true Crown Royal style, and honour the Raptors who seized opportunities for greatness!no comments
Despite the Toronto Raptors losing to the Los Angeles Clippers for the second time this season, this time by a score of 118-105, Terrence Ross seems ready to take 'TDot Flight 31' straight to New Orleans for NBA All-Star Weekend!
The Toronto Raptors traveled to Sacramento to play the Kings for the 4th game of their current 5 game road trip. This marks the first time the two teams have played each other since the trade that swapped Rudy Gay, Quincy Acy, Aaron Gray for Greivis Vasquez, John Salmons, Patrick Patterson, and Chuck Hayes.
The Kings imposed their style of play early on, and the Raptors fell behind early. In fact, the Raptors did not hold a lead at any point during the game. They made a valiant effort in the 4th quarter, but it wasn't enough and the Raptors lost to the Kings, 109-101. The game was not without some drama and controversy though...
Amir Johnson threw down a two-hand jam for 2 of his 11 points on the night against the Utah Jazz. Amir had a solid performance, recording a double-double, 11 points & 11 rebounds (including 5 offensive boards), in his 29 minutes on the floor. He also added 2 blocked shots for good measure.
